Bengal Belle fun

“This room” was the ballroom of the HiltonCapitalCenter, filled to the brink with cheering Bengal Belles and LSU VIPs, attending the season’s inaugural luncheon. The event’s head table featured LSU Head Football Coach Les Miles and wife, Kathy, as well as Black and fellow players Jonathon Zenon and Patrick Fisher.
“What happens at Bengal Belles stays at Bengal Belles” proclaimed emcee Gordy Rush. Antics such as a cap with the phrase “PAC-10 RULES”, gifted to Coach Miles by his wife, and a football-family-geared version of The Newlywed Game were part of the fun event. There were also serious moments, such as when Hilton manager Austin Van Devate presented a check for $7,500 to Tomas Jimenez, director of the LSU AcademicCenter.
Celebrities abounded including LSU Athletic Director Skip Bertman and wife, Sandy; and the wives of LSU President John V. Lombardi and LSU Chancellor Sean O’Keefe, Cathryn Lombardi and Laura O’Keefe. Also present were Collis Temple Jr. and sons Collis Temple III and Elliott Temple, as well as former LSU football coach Paul Dietzel and his wife, Ann, and Dorothy Faye McClendon, wife of the late LSU football coach Charles McClendon.
