I’m thrilled to announce the launch of www.Blacktie-Louisiana.com, the consummate Internet resource for nonprofit organizations. Blacktie-Louisiana.com is a clearinghouse of events and planning services for our nonprofit organizations and their philanthropists, staffs and volunteers who run them.
Blacktie is a national company based in Denver, which is building affiliate relationships throughout the United States, including St. Louis, Pittsburgh, Phoenix, South Florida and now Louisiana. Georgia Imhoff and Kenton Kuhn are Blacktie’s founders. In the mid-1990s, Imhoff, a longtime Denver volunteer and philanthropist, saw a need for a tool that would list nonprofits' upcoming fund-raising events, avoiding conflicting dates and helping make these events as successful as possible. Kenton, who has been active in online communications since 1986 and the Internet since 1994, built the site.
Stephanie and Jason Green, president of Stanford Financial Group’s national private wealth division, are serving as endorsing philanthropists for Blacktie-Louisiana and will be special guests for the inaugural party. Kenton was in Baton Rouge March 7 for Blacktie-Louisiana’s launch party at the Louisiana State Museum He also conducted workshops to demonstrate the powerful site for nonprofit organization directors and staffs at 8:30 a.m. March 8, also at the Louisiana State Museum.
Blacktie-Louisiana.com is definitely the place “where nonprofits get noticed.” The site facilitates communication between nonprofits and their philanthropic supporters by offering a variety of Internet services to the nonprofit community including selling event tickets and silent auction items online, as well as taking donations online.
However, that’s just the tip of the iceberg. Blacktie-Louisiana.com also features an event calendar for planning and scheduling special events, photo coverage of events and a variety of event-planning and communication tools, including designing room layouts, printing nametags and formatted thank-you letters and planning golf tournaments.
The Blacktie-Colorado site boasts more than 150,000 visitor sessions a month! Here are some of the site statistics:
75% of visitors are women
60% support nonprofits (philanthropists as opposed to staff)
34% visit the site more than five times a month
41% are between the ages of 25-45
25% have incomes of more than $100,000
60% attend more than six charitable fund-raisers a year
40% throw a private party for at least 50 people once a year
55% spend more than $1,000 a year on wine
We at InRegister are excited about how well Blacktie-Louisiana integrates into our mission, “We Take You There,” as Baton Rouge’s city publication and complete online resource. We have already added a Blacktie-Louisiana button on the www.inregister.com homepage. So check it out at www.Blacktie-Louisiana.com or through www.inregister.com!
